Thank You Edgemont

Church Family, as we come to the end of the strange year that 2020 has been, I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you. Each of you in your own way has stepped up to the plate to meet the challenges that this year has given. I have seen the way you have sacrificed your preferences in order to keep people safe in this pandemic. You have embraced virtual worship and ministry. You have been open to opportunities to partner with other churches and groups to continue to minister to many different groups in our community. In his first letter to the Thessalonians, Paul shared these words (1 Thessalonians 3:6-10),

But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.

Even in this very difficult season of life, I continually find myself encouraged by the things I hear from you and about you. In so many ways Edgemont, both big and small, you bring joy to my life. As we prepare to enter this new year, I am striving to be like Paul, praying for each of you and desiring for the time when we will all be able to see each other again in full force. I am confident as we go forward into this new year that God is with us and we will continue to meet all the challenges we face.

Happy New Year

Pastor Henry
