Thank You

Edgemont Family,

I just want to take a minute and say thank you for the love and appreciation you showed to Kellie and myself yesterday on Pastor’s Appreciation Day. We are grateful to have such a kind and loving church family. Throughout the day yesterday, I received messages of appreciation from so many of you; some in person, some through text, others on social media. I was reminded of how blessed I am to be able to pastor at this church and have all of you as partners in the ministry of Jesus Christ. I want to share a prayer that the Apostle Paul prayed for the Philippians, which I pray for each of you. Philippians 1:3-11 says,

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Church, we are blessed to be together and in turn are able to be a blessing in our community. I am excited for the kingdom work we get to do together; sharing God’s love, praying for one another, reaching out a helping hand to those in need in the Shoals. Thank you all for being a part of Edgemont. You are a gift!
